Holiday Greetings fellow Kerouacians!
I want to let y’all know about some fun stuff happening at the Kerouac House this month.

The first installment of what we hope will be a regular house concert series - The Songwriter Club – debuts on Wednesday, 12/04, doors at 6, show at 7pm. This series is a collaboration with local artist and impresario Shawn Kyle who over the years has produced many great shows at some of the coolest venues in the Tampa Bay area, most recently at the Floridian and Bayboro Brewing. Shawn’s concept is to tap his vast network of fellow acclaimed artists to perform intimate concerts at the Kerouac House. Each show will be different, but all will include a feature artist, this month David Dondero, as well as a few other, regional performers, this month Shawn himself.

Next, the Craftsman House presents long time, Tampa Bay favorites Liz Pennock & Dr. Blues celebrating the release of their new CD, Christmas Eve Present with a CD release concert at The Jack Kerouac House of St. Petersburg on Thursday, December 12th at 7pm. Wear your fun, holiday attire or at least attitude!
This is Liz Pennock & Dr. Blues’s 8th album on Upright Records - their first studio release since Quirky Boogie eight years ago, Christmas Eve Present is a collection of fourteen holiday songs, containing their bluesy & boogie woogie renditions of traditional holiday tunes, plus five new originals from Liz & Doc. The album features Liz’s piano and vocals, as well as her harmonica and trombone on a few of the tracks, not to mention tambourine and sleigh bells!

Finally, we are collaborating with local literary group Wordier Than Thou for the first ever “Underground Book Fair” at the Kerouac House from 1-5pm on Saturday 12/14.
We are gathering local independent booksellers, record dealers, artists, and authors to hang out at the Kerouac House. Browse the cool stuff for sale, chat with the authors, and tour author Jack Kerouac’s former residence. Refreshments and music will be on hand. Please help support St. Petersburg’s literary community and the Jack Kerouac House. We will ask for a $5 donation at the door.
