December 2025

Hello Kerouacians!
There’s a lot of cool Holiday stuff happening at the Jack Kerouac House in December.  This Friday 12/05 from 6-8pm we are hosting our annual end-of-the-year soiree, the Kerouac Holiday Open House.  We are super psyched about our special holiday editions of this month’s poetry reading and storytelling events, Storytelling @ the Kerouac House and Coffee and Poetry at Jack’s. Of course, all of the above (and below) will be held at your friendly neighborhood Jack Kerouac House of St Petersburg at 5169 10th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33710.

Just a reminder, today is Giving Tuesday.  Please consider making a donation to the Jack Kerouac House of St. Petersburg by going to the “Donate” page of our website here: Donations

First, come join us for our Holiday Open House on this Thursday December 5, 2025 from 6-8 PM.   We'll have festive decorations, delicious treats, and plenty of holiday cheer! This will be an exclusive, festive gathering at Jack's House, where we will celebrate the close of another successful year and express our gratitude to all of you. Enjoy an evening filled with music, food, and cheer! This is a great opportunity to meet new people, support our mission, and tour the house. Don't miss out on this special event!

Jack's Holiday Open House is a free, invitation only event, but we would still like you to RSVP/register on the following Eventbrite ticket page so we know how many drinks and treats we should have on hand: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/holiday-open-house-tickets-1967219196573?aff=oddtdtcreator
The party will be on December 5, 2025 from 6-8 PM at the Jack Kerouac House, 5169 10th Ave N, St Pete 33710.
Next, a special holiday edition of Storytelling @ the Kerouac House will happen on 12/20 from 3-6 PM. Walt Belcher, Victoria Dym and Ken Burchenal will tell (the three wise ones). There will be storytelling games (reindeer games) and we will give each other the gift of story at the story swap.

To tell at the open mic (5-7 minutes), sign up at the event with emcee Victoria Dym. Holiday refreshments and snacks will be served at intermission; wine and beer available at the cash bar. Come to listen and/or tell! There will be limited seating. Tickets are $10 plus tax and a service fee; donations go directly to the Jack Kerouac House. For more info and Tickets:

Next, December’s Coffee and Poetery at Jack’s features spoken word ninja Dennis Amadeus and members of his band Wülfgang Amadeus on Sun 12/21 from 3 6pm. Local writer, poet, storyteller, comedian, and actor Victoria Dym will emcee and also read.
Wülfgang Amadeus is a band that hails from Tampa comprised of poets. They blend music and spoken word to create an intense brew that is not to be missed.  As they self-describe:
A Poet and Drummer meet at a bar and Wülfgang Amadeus is born! Now united, the Wülfgang is finally ready to shred their bohemian rhapsody across the ages with their timeless lyricism, classic riffs, inspiring Melodie’s, dynamic sound and talents that span multiple genres of performance art.
Don’t miss this truly unique performance. The reading starts at 3pm. So come on by and grab a cup of joe and complimentary pastries. You can sign up to recite with our resident poet and emcee Victoria Dym when you get to Jack’s house. Tickets are limited and they are $10 each plus tax and fees.  For more info and tix:
