Book Signing with Shane Pittman
On Sat Oct. 10th from 4-6pm Silent Slayer Ghost Tours will host a book signingand conversation with author, director, TV Personality, and paranormal investigator Shane Pittman in celebration of the release of his newest book Hope on the Other Side of Pain: Grief, Grace, and Ghosts (forward by Dave Schrader). Shane will be signing copies of his book and talking about his life as a paranormal investigator.
Shane Pittman has been searching for answers in the dark since before it was a career. As equipment technician and co-star on Travel Channel's The Holzer Filesfor two seasons, then lead investigator on Netflix's 28 Days Haunted, he has spent more time inside documented haunted locations than most people will ever see in a lifetime.
He didn't stop when the cameras did. Network shows were getting cancelled, audiences were losing access to the people and content they actually wanted, and nobody was doing anything about it. So he built Beacon TV, a streaming platform for paranormal, true crime, and horror, to bring viewers exactly what the networks kept taking away. He also wrote a book, because some things you can't capture on film.
This event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP so we know how many books to have on hand

Storytelling @ the Kerouac House feat. JD Adler
On Sat Oct 24th from 7-9pm this month’s Storytelling @ the Kerouac House will present local storyteller extraordinaire JD Adler as our featured Storyteller. Vlada Bernhardtz will return as the opener.
JD Adler was born with a black eye and giggling in Easton, Pennsylvania. He spent two decades alternating between traveling across America and attending college. He has volunteered with the Fire Department in Lake Tahoe, Mighty Writers in Philadelphia, SOS in Key West, and currently serves on the board of The Suncoast Storytellers in Tampa Bay. Adler's diverse work history includes stints as an EMT, bartender, ski lift operator, bookstore manager, line cook, freelance journalist, university consultant, and haunted pub crawl tour guide, just to name a few. A prolific writer, he has published works of journalism, poetry, plays, screenplays, novels, and short fiction, and also operates as an occasional indie publisher, championing emerging authors' voices. After a lifetime of traveling, writing, and doing every job there is in one restaurant or another, JD and Lisa (the love of his life) have decided to settle down in beautiful Dunedin and put all that experience to work in a cozy cafe. We hope you’ll join us at JD’s Place.
Sign up to tell a 5-7 minute story at the event. Libations, snacks and Kerouac merch are available.
Bringing her creativity and unique style to various age groups and venues, Ms. Vlada Bernhardtz lets the story be the star of the show! Having grown up in Africa and Europe, she brings a wealth of stories and folktales from many corners of the world. Her audiences - big and small - enjoy the wit and wisdom of generations and cultures weaved into her stories.
Vlada is a member of the Windy City Storytelling Guild and has performed at schools, folk festivals, Park Districts, Senior Centers, libraries and Forest Preserves. She can create a program to target specific themes for a variety of audiences.
